Snowmobiling...

The City of Sumpter allows snowmobiling within the City Limits, however, riding on our city streets is a privilege and can be revoked.

We have a speed limit of 15 MPH and riding is not allowed on the Hwy/Main street of town (the pavement). We also ask you to respect the residents of Sumpter and keep the hot-roding for out of town.

We ask you to please follow our few regulations so that all of us will be able to keep enjoying this privilege:


  • Speed Limit within Sumpter City Limits: 15 MPH
  • No Snowmobiles Allowed On Mill St/State Highway
  • No Snowmobiles On City Streets After 10 PM
  • Register and License Your Snowmobile!
  • Carry Valid Driver's License or Snowmobile Operator's License
  • Travel With Headlights On and Obey Oregon's Basic Speed Law
  • NO Driving While Under the Influence of Intoxicants!
  • Stay on Designated Trails While Traveling Through Private Property
  • Please Respect Private Property!
  • RIDE SMART, RIDE SAFE!
